Following a presentation about toxic products I made to the board of the daycare, they decided to adopt the Toronto District School Board’s Scented Products Awareness Program. But there is still more change needed to make the facility a truly nontoxic and safe place.

Chemical intolerance, aka Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, requires avoiding chemicals in a world of pervasive chemical use and most people diagnosed with the illness become isolated. When patients become desperate for contact, acceptance, work opportunities, and socialization, coping strategies become extremely important.

I believe that Ashtok Gupta's brain retraining findings and Martin Pall's NO-ONOO- findings co-exist. Neither one cancels the other. Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is a vicious cycle. We do need to break the cycle at some point.

Alert! The Danish Research Centre for Chemical Sensitivities is striving to clearly influence the international science of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Among its activities, the Centre is on the lookout for "psychological factors" in MCS patients.

The Chemical Sensitivity Foundation works to encourage research, distributes informational materials to lawmakers and policy chiefs, disseminates peer-reviewed studies on chemical sensitivity, calls attention to housing problems faced by those with multiple chemical sensitivity, investigates adverse health effects from 9/11 and the first Gulf War, and more.

In Denmark, as in many other countries, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is not yet recognised as a true physical disease caused by toxic chemicals. The Danish National Board of Health maintains that MCS is not a disease, but a “situation” where people “believe” or “feel” that various airborne chemicals are making them ill.
