Know what freshness smells like. It’s not “vanilla passion,” or “new car.” It should smell like nothing.

oldpaintsHealthZone.ca reports on some excellent ways to detoxify your house fast.

Clean the toxic dump, a.k.a. your garage, chemicals lingering on those shelves [like old cans of paint at right]. Just don’t throw them in the trash: find the closest Household Hazardous Waste depot.

Leave the bleach behind.

Open the windows.

Leave your shoes at the door.

Enact your own area-wide second-hand smoking ban.

Move away from the printer.

If dry-cleaning is optional, hand wash those items.

[Buy some] green tea and olive oil.

Thanks, Linda!
