The safer food processors and blenders guide is great!

I so want a glass jar Vitamix, like they used to make. I hope they’ll do them again, as I just can’t bring myself to trust any plastics these days.

I need to buy a glass blender, I have an all-plastic food processor by Cuisinart. When I was growing up, we had a glass blender, probably Waring, worked just as well. I use mainly to make hummus, fruit smoothies and to blend up a couple of cups of whatever soup I’m making to add back into the pot to thicken it up. We also have a stainless steel juicer that I don’t use very often. I, too, really want to get away from plastic in general– bad for health, bad for the environment.

I have a vitamix, but it’s not glass! I wish it was glass that would be awesome. Why did they ever start making everything plastic?!!
I still use my vitamix regardless because it helps my already limited diet have more variety.. but thank gawd i gave of the plastic water bottles. I think it’s the worst when it’s been sitting in the plastic container and subjected to who knows what for who know how long.
