They’re taking over Madison, Wisconsin!

You guys know I’m a huge proponent of backyard chickens. I got hooked into it by the beautiful Lydia, who came racing into my garden one day with her little baby (now known as Jolie), took refuge under the bamboo, and never left. Later, Lucy and Katie came to join us, and next thing you know, I have backyard chickens.

You can’t imagine how much fun it is to find out about a crazy, creative film like this!

Filmmakers Tashai Lovington and Robert Lughai have made a whimsical film called Mad City Chickens.

In the spring of 2004, Madison, Wisconsin passed a law reflecting a growing trend in municipalities across the country. Single-family homes within city limits were now able to raise chickens in their backyards.

From the underground to about town, chickens take the city by storm, and poultry supporters come out of the woodwork. From backyard hens to runaway piano players, the city will never be the same again.

Produced and directed by Tashai Lovington & Robert Lughai, this film is now out on the film festival circuit.
