My garden buddies.
These are my hens on their Sunday afternoon outing in the gardens today. They stay in their enclosed run most of the day, but I let them out every afternoon at about 4 o’clock until sunset to catch bugs and forage. They each lay an egg a day, way too many for us to eat, so I give the surplus away to friends & neighbors. Home grown eggs are unbelievably delicious!! And if you add some flax seed to their diet, the eggs are full of omega-3 fatty acids– very good for you. Clockwise from bottom left, here’s Katie, Jolie, Lucy and Lydia, my garden buddies.
